The Star Model
Developed by Jay Galbraith in 1973, the Star Model is one of the most enduring and widely adopted organizational design frameworks in the world. I use the Star Model because it helps leaders see their business as an interconnected system. When one part is out of alignment, the whole organization feels it. This framework makes it easy to identify what is really holding the business back, so we can implement creative, sustainable solutions.
Capability Maturity Model
The Capability Maturity Model (Humphrey, late 1980s) was developed as a tool to rigorously standardize and elevate development processes. I use the Capability Maturity Model because it helps leaders understand the current capability of their business and, using the PDCA framework, define target state and develop solutions to close the gap.
